Checklist for bookings Ways to make sure your cat gets the best possible care while you are away:
Ensure there is plenty of your cat's food available, as well as a favourite meal handy, should your cat not fancy his usual diet. Cat treats and/or cat milk are a nice touch too, but not essential. Please leave plenty of fresh cat litter, a scoop and small plastic bags for used litter i.e. nappy sacks. A small bin liner is useful for changing the tray completely too. Leave out kitchen paper, bin liners, dustpan and brush and cleaning equipment for "accidents", e.g. disinfectant. Make a note of up-to-date mobile numbers or other contact numbers that you can be reached on while you are away, if possible. If your cat needs medication, a note of the current dosage is important, as this may have changed since your last booking. The same applies for special dietary requirements. Make sure that flea treatments are up-to-date. Flea bites are unpleasant for your cat and for me! Fleas can quickly infest a house too, which is not nice to come home to. Keep favourite toys handy. It's great to be able to have a game with the cats. If your cat likes to be groomed, leave the brush out. This can be a great way for them to relax and bond with their petsitter. Please try to let your cats have their usual run of the house. They like to have access to their usual haunts. If possible, leave heating on low in winter, since cats don't like the cold. Supply visitor parking permits, if necessary.
